Sponge Bob said the Beach needs some cleaning!!

Join The Kids Ecology Corps and Ocean Watch at the 17th Annual Reef Sweep & Beach Clean Up

Saturday, June 11, 2005 from 9am - 12pm

A great family activity for all ages.  Boaters and beach walkers will sweep our beaches and coral reefs clean from harmful garbage.  We are expecting over 700 beach lovers and coastal residents to pitch-in along Broward County.

The Kids Ecology Corps will be providing an educational component so volunteers can learn about how they helped to beautify and protect our coral reefs, marine life, economy and human health.

There are six sites throughout Broward County for beach walkers to easily take part in by just showing up and lending a hand.

Please join The Kids Ecology Corps at the North Beach Park site in Hollywood.  You can participate in the clean-up, educate others or help out with registration as we are manning this site.

**For further information, possible carpool or to RSVP to help out at the table, call Emily or Debra at 954-524-0366.**

From I-95 exit at Sheridan and go east till you reach the beach.

You can freshen up and then come back for the Reef Sweep Party at 5:00pm.  Location to be announced.

Thank you to those of you who joined us at Waterfest.

Hope to see you at the next event!!

P.S.  If you want to clean the air and avoid parking J

By bus: take bus route # 7 which runs along Pines Blvd out west (Hollywood Blvd out east).  Stay on the bus as it curves north along A1A and get off near Sheridan Street.

By tri-rail: click here to find out the schedule and click on weekend www.tri-rail.com/schedules_fares/ntm_wday.htm  Get off at the Hollywood station (not Sheridan).  Then catch the bus # 7 going east.

*If you would like to go to the other walking sites or diving sites for SCUBA divers and private charter boats going out to the reefs, call Ocean Watch at 954-467-1366.

** Also, reserve your calendar for Friday, July 15th for Sea turtle release.  More information to come.
