We at
Kids Ecology Corps were shocked and saddened by the news
of the murder of Sir Peter Blake in the Amazon River basin
on December 6, 2001. Sir Peter, a native of New Zealand,
was a world-renown yachtsman and environmentalist. He is
one of the heroes of our modern times and his passion and
concern for the environment will truly be missed.
In
honor of Sir Peter's memory KEC will be planting 100 trees
in the Kids Ecology Corps Honor the Children Forest. We
will miss Sir Peter and we promise to keep alive his
vision and passion to save our planet home.
Go
to
http://www.blakexpeditions.com for more information
about the life of Sir Peter and the continuation of his
work in the Antarctic and Amazon regions by
blakexpeditions.
