KEC Founder Passes

Message from Joan Starr…

The co-founder of Kids Ecology Corps, Leonard A. Solomon, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, passed away on July 20, 2012. Lenny, as he was know to his friends and family, was the chairman of the KEC board and  the founder of KEC’s vision.

Leonard  Solomon was a life-long entrepreneur.  He along with Daisy Miller founded KEC in 1997. His compassionate philanthropic principals and ethical practices  served as the foundation for the good work KEC has done and the platform for future outreach. Mr. Solomon’s commitments were exemplified by his work with the Hunger Project, the Salvation Army and the National Conference of Christians and Jews. He was honored for his dedication and commitment to social justice and human dignity by his award of the Silver Medallion Award from the National Conference of Christians and Jews.

We at KEC will miss his vision, leadership and friendship.

Leonard’s family has asked that donations be given to KEC in memory of Lenny.
